Title: FC Olds
Post by: customFC on April 16, 2004, 11:53:16 PM
Here's a real sleeper. This FC was owned by Tony Burrell. Car featured a 215" Oldsmobile V8. This is a lightweight Aluminium engine that actually weighs less than a grey. Car was a quick performer at 15.3sec 1/4 mile times. Very impressive for the early 70's. Car was featured as a road test in the Dec '71 Custom Rodder.
Regards
Alex

Oh, BTW, check out those crossplys. SCAREY STUFF!

Here's a pic of the engine from the front of Custom Rodder. Check out the vacuum wipers.....more scarey stuff.

Hi Alex,
It may be a FE and he has tried to improve the look of it ;D. Note the door strips and no rear fins! :o

i wonder what brand power booster is in it,as its very neat and there would not have been many choices in those days.

Nice find Alex, hey Ace, what do you mean "improve the look of it"? FE's don't need improving!

I think the master cylinder is XA, possibly the booster is as well.

"GTF" number plates are FE as well.

In the write up it says a Falcon master cylinder and a Torana master vacuum with a Austin 1800 power unit ;)
