Title: More streetneat painting tips... Post by: streetneat on March 17, 2004, 08:55:29 PM On the topic of buffing back two pack the best method is to start with a 1500 grade wet and dry with plenty of water and soap helps this process too . Only use pure soap and I don't need to tell you not to use the solvo..... The buff machine is set on low speed for the initial cut and the full range of cutting compounds needs to be bought from your local automotive paint supply company. The finishing sanding is best done with 2000 grade paper and followed by a hi -speed buffing using the different grades of foam buff as not to burn the paint. Paint edges need to be masked off and watch for ariels and trim... Buffs tend to have a ferocious appetite for these items with disasterous results...
My best advise is to take the car to a shop so they can buff it for you... The cost should only be a few hundred bucks at worse and if they stuff it, its on their heads... The cost of buyig all the required materials means this idea of doing it yourself is a bit of a waste of money and time... But if you plan to do several cars and dont mind the expense then go for it.... Cheers streetneat |
