Title: Wiring
Post by: Sarge on March 08, 2004, 09:02:02 AM
Ok One of my weak spot's is wiring. As most of you all are aware I have done the common modification of fitting a red 186 to my FE sedan. Now the fun part. Can anybody supply me with a wiring diagram for changing the wiring from the old regulator from the grey motor to the new alternator of the red motor. When it come to wiring I would be the worlds worst. I have sat down with the wiring diagram from the FE & the HR and tried to work though it, but alas with no clear result.  ;) SO Pease Help Me I want the car at Wintersun this year.  ;D

when i change to a 186 i also changed from  gen to alternator, to save all the hassles of wiring I used a alterntor from a vh commodore, bonus built in regulatour
only needs one wire from battery, and one wire to charge light on dash.
hope this helps alot
PS  alternator from vh bolt strianght to 179 ---- 202 red blocks

Check the link to prior posting where I went to great length with an answer to this one, too long to re type.

The search engine on this site reveals a lotof info, remember someone has been there before, what is new is always old.
Good Luck
