Post by: griffo_1@hotmail.com on April 08, 2001, 12:00:00 PM
Could anyone please tell me the difference between Standard and Special FC's?  I want to restore a car to "special"  condition. thanks, Griffo.

Griffo,
Just my $0.02, but Standards are much rarer than Specials, if you have a standard sedan or wagon, I'd recommend keeping it that way.
The main differences are (1) single-tone paint, (2) vinyl interior - as opposed to Elascofab, (3) indicators not fitted, (4) exterior chrome trim equivalent to ute or van, ie no "flash", (5) no stainless trim around windows.
There are probably other differences as well, but they're the main ones that spring to mind.
cheers, RET

Didn't the FC special also have a door lock on both side? Or is that a viscious rumour?

Yes, both FE and FC Specials do.
