Title: Petrol Tank Pressure Post by: utey on February 15, 2004, 01:32:32 PM Noticed a build up of pressure in the petrol tank recently, even worse on a hot day.
40 degrees today and the tank was leaking! enough pressure to force hand back when opening! Any ideas/fixes. Nick Title: Re: Petrol Tank Pressure Post by: nicko on February 15, 2004, 01:40:52 PM you have a kinked or blocked breather tube, cant remember where abouts it is exactly but have a close look around tank and you will find it.

I am pretty sure that you should be using a vented fuel cap ! Might be wrong but it would fix the problem. I have a vented cap on my car and have no prob's. Off the rack at most car part shops is part no SL15. (Locking cap) Regards Steve Title: Re: Petrol Tank Pressure Post by: ACE on February 16, 2004, 12:26:50 AM Hi Utey,
There is no breather on the fuel tank, the vented cap is the breather, if this problem has just developed i'd be having a good look at the cap to make sure the vent hole is not gummed up. ;) ACE 8) Title: Re: Petrol Tank Pressure Post by: nicko on February 16, 2004, 01:19:14 AM well you learn something new every day i always thought all cars came with breather tube, sorry if i got you under car looking for a non existant tube bud

Thanks Nick Title: Re: Petrol Tank Pressure Post by: fastjbav6 on February 17, 2004, 01:12:31 AM Fit a new fuel cap, you have a faulty or blocked vent valve in the cap.
