Title: headlight switch
Post by: smithy on February 12, 2004, 07:36:38 AM
hi all im hoping some-one can shed some light (sorry ;D)
on which screws are which with the headlight switch

there is
               2 screws at the rear
3 close together at the top
1 at the bottom front of switch with a            ceramic??surround
and          1 in the middle below the 3 at the top.
i hope this makes some sort of sense.

of course the switch could have been installed upside down in which case flip all the items above but im sure you get the idea.
thanks heaps
dean

Hi Smithy,
Firstly there is a locating lug on the switch so you shouldn't be able to install it upside down.
O.K the 2 screws at the rear- the right hand one takes the 2 thick red wires. The left one is not used( on my car).
The 3 close together from front to back- 1 blue 2 black 3 2 white wires joined together.
The front one at the bottom of the switch takes the grey wire.
Hope this Helps,

thanks ace,
i accidently loaded the question twice after my computer decided to play games with me, it crashed halfway through sending but looks like the message still gets through.
any way got all the info i need now. im re-wiring the car from front to back with a new harness from "classic car connections" great harness and cheaper than the  painless version, and the way the have laid out the wiring confused me a little as they use less wires than shown in the original schematics.

thanks again
