Title: Twin Stromberg Linkage
Post by: Emu on January 14, 2004, 01:03:33 AM
Hey Guys,

I have a twin strommie setup. It has a linkage between the 2 with like a D-shaped bit on each end (technical enough for ya). Apparently the D bits r flogged.

Does anyone have such an item for sale or can u get new linkages anywhere?

I have a pic but of course I still haven't been able to get them to post. I might send it via Craig A which is apparently the preferred method for technophobes.

Thanks Guys

Matt F

if there is a mini parts shop near you try them as they always stock jouners for twin SU's which will often fit other shafts

What a genius you are Craig!

Well fellas, see what I mean?

Both about Craig and the linkage?

I don't want to appear  ignorant Nicko (I know that will draw comment from the Kiwi!), but a mini parts store is either a store where they sell parts for minis or a small parts store, or possibly both.

Is this a linkage that one would pick up at  autobarn or repco?

EMU...they are available at www.americanautos.com.au
I even bought 2 sets for my Triple Strombergs.....only difference, is that the Triples have longer shafts, ( I just cut them down to size ).

Cheap as chips too....about $20 odd !

Cheers

Mark

Emu,

I used to buy parts off these guys in Sydney http://www.carburettorservice.com.au/ Might be worth a ring.

Cheers,

Hi EMU,

Speco sell a after market clip called a "W" clip that do the same job I have used them to set up my tripple strommies.

Rare Spares have them listed as well, part number 221140 for 5/16" shafts they sell for $12.oo for a pair with bolts and nuts.

Hope this helps,
Steve.
