FX,FJ,FE,FC,FB,EK,EJ,EH,HD,HR- they are all there.  Couple of old trucks, fuel bowser etc.  Even the ubiquitous 180B for those that way inclined.

Must of been a time when they were getting really
cheap and no one wanted them,very sad to see  :'(

theres is or was an old bloke just out of Catherine at Pine Creak in the Northern Territory that had a very nice rust free collection of old holdens on his farm every 3 years without fail he got new car and would park these good cars in paddock,we all tried to buy them but he was one of those old fools who did not plan on doing them up he just didn't want anyone else to have them,last time i went past was 1992 hes probably dead and cars scrapped.

Well its a sad sight to see and simply un-Austalian. Such a great part of this countrys motoring history just rusting away. Why do people do it?  ??? They must know that they will never be able to restore them all. So why not sell some off so others can? ::)

I might have to organise a trip up your way with Sarge & Emu. I think between the four of use we might be able to convince the old cogger to part with some of his soon to be worthless bits of rusty scrap metal.

In reallity you can not change the norrow minds of ppl like that. What a pitty to see all that history going to waste.

     Just let me know when and where to meet up with you. For you can put me down for a definate starter. May-be if a few nice guys have a kind word to him and let him know that we are all Holden enthusiasts and just what to get our cars back the way they where made. He may come around. We can only hope.  :-/

or you could lock him in the boot first,and convince his wife which would be easy as you can bet your life she has nagged him for years to get rid of them,gee i like that boot idea

I'm actually a specialist boot locker inarer. Three year course at the University of Persuasion.
I can be a nice guy too if that is required.

It would be good just to look at these old girls and maybe collect some numbers for Ken.

This pile of old classics is actually in central NSW, closer to Normd than me.  

It's bloody sad to see.  They are right in the middle of town on the main highway too!  Everytime we drive past we get more annoyed.

I imagine the local council would be thrilled to get rid of them.  Who wants to run for council in small town NSW, and split the booty of holdens?

On the Adelaide Early Holdens site there is a section aptly titled "The ones the farmers are going to do up".  I think these photos easily fall into that category.

I have a mate whose family owns a large property in north western NSW. My mate doesn't really get on with his old man - which is a shame - because there are more than 50 early Holdens (including a few FE wagons)on the farm - all in fairly good condition. His old man threatens to shoot anybody who comes to touch them, so there they sit, rotting away (albiet slowly) like the ones in the photos. The good news  ??? We are considerably younger than these farmer restorers, so we'll just have to wait till the old bastards die and then buy the stuff of their greedy kids!!

     Trouble with the "Greedy Kids" is they normally use the old cars as "fill for Gullies" , over and done with before anybody knows about it  :'( . All they want to do is "clean out the old man's rubbish"
     Most of these type of cars mean nothing to them because the Old Man used to use a Ute or cut the back out of a wagon to feed sheep etc.  :( . (I can't talk , when dad sold our farm in 1970 , he used a '37 Chev Ute for Gully Fill. :-X )

Yes I know those vehicles, I have stopped in there while heading to QLD, and yes he wasn't prepared to sell anything then either!!  They have been there for at least 10 years as I first saw them in 1993.  

Oh well they'll be released one day when the old codger carks it!!  :)

thats one of the rarest colors around, and i know this cuse we have 1 that color what a shame
