Well at least thats what it reminds me of ,I could see it with the mud terrains on in the tractor pull arena :) Title: Re: The Shark Post by: normd on October 18, 2003, 11:09:37 AM Hey Alex
I didn't know it was called "the Shark" when I posted the pic's (Daaa) I'd listed it under "Pre Harko" cos thats what he does. ::) Here's one of the originals (http://photo.starblvd.net/~normd/2-4-3.jpg?) Norm Title: Re: The Shark Post by: customFC on October 18, 2003, 11:19:49 AM Thanks Norm.
Hey Harko.....funny you should say that. Did you know that "The Shark" started out as a speedway racer? The owner, John Hughson came across it in a paddock and paid $300 for the chopped shell. It used to be a speedway racer at Mallala race track, outside of Adelaide. Regards Alex Title: Re: The Shark Post by: normd on October 18, 2003, 11:25:38 AM Geez Alex
Do you live in a 5 square house with a 20 square shed , ya must do have so many albums & books ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Norm :) Title: Re: The Shark Post by: mcl1959 on October 20, 2003, 09:37:25 AM Alex, do you have a pic of The Shark with it's teeth?
Originally it had sharks teeth in the grille. Not for very long though as it was kinda gross. I think I have a pic somewhere, I will try and find it. Ken Title: Re: The Shark Post by: nicko on October 22, 2003, 03:36:18 AM i remember sitting in a car that looked remarkedly alike in 1986 in a family friends house just outside the city in Adelaide it had flame job and horrid teeth in grill,it had been sitting there unregistered for a couple of years,it belonged to girlfriends brother, unfortuneatly ive long since lost contact with the family after a bit of an argument, only i could have sworn the chop was more severe as the windscreen was only about 8 or nine inches high
Title: Re: The Shark Post by: customFC on November 19, 2003, 03:44:45 AM Ken....where's that pic with the teeth?
Nicko....I believe the car you are refering to is a different FE. I have pics of that car, but taken at night, so not the clearest.....look out for them soon. In the mean time, here's a pic of the Shark at Narranderra Rod Run 1973. Was only a small pic, but it is colour and the car is the same as in Norm's pic above. (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/shark_73.jpg) Regards Alex Title: Re: The Shark Post by: customFC on November 19, 2003, 03:48:04 AM Another pic of the Shark in the parade.
Check out that panel painted FB in front......Oh the 70's. (http://www.fefcholden.org.au/forum/attachments/shark_73b.jpg) Regards Alex Title: Re: The Shark Post by: mcl1959 on November 19, 2003, 10:30:40 AM (http://ourworld.cs.com/mcl1959fc/scan.jpg)
Here is the photo of the shark. My son - nicknamed "son of a restorer" showed me how to post it Regards Ken Title: Re: The Shark Post by: mcl1959 on November 19, 2003, 10:41:30 AM Sorry about the size of the pic - more learning neccesary.
Forgot to add - the pic is from Custom rodder no 21. Feb/Mar 1974. The later pics without the teeth come from 1976. I have the same photos without the teeth in a publication entitled "Holden Specials" dated 1976 Regards Ken Title: Re: The Shark Post by: customFC on November 19, 2003, 12:29:05 PM Hey Ken.
Thanks for the pic. Now that I see it, it triggered my memory.....I do remember seeing that pic before. Looks cool. Regards Alex Title: Re: The Shark Post by: nicko on November 19, 2003, 12:51:18 PM the shark is not the same car,the black one with the the vinyl roof is the car that a guy from Adelaide with a surname of Colyton,(not sure of spelling) was the owner in 1983 or 1984 his dad gave it to him,but as he was unemployed he might have sold it on , but it had teeth in grill
Title: Re: The Shark Post by: nicko on November 19, 2003, 01:01:22 PM just realised the mistake in my last post i meant it is the same car as he had a black vinly roof ,there cant be two chopped and flamed black holdens with same roof in Adelaide.in the early eighties
Title: Re: The Shark Post by: HARKO on November 19, 2003, 01:07:17 PM Is that me in the Naranderra pic.
Oh nah it couldnt be I wasnt born yet ;D Man those guys went the hard yards in those days ,That FB has been channeled ,you can see the shorter fins and wheel arches seem way higher up the body. And that yellow 39 with flames still gets around today ,What a credit to the builder and I hope that the builds I complete in my lifetime last half as long - Id be a happy chappy. Title: Re: The Shark Post by: cajerridoc on January 03, 2008, 11:18:14 PM I just found this old thread about "The Shark". Sadly most of the pictures seem to be gone. I would like to see them if they can be reserrected as a friend of mine currently owns "The Shark". He saved it from a wrecker a few years ago, they were about to stack another car on top of it. It is a bit worse for wear but better than it would have been if the wreckers had had their way with it. I will see if I can get a picture to post as it is now, if he will let me.
Robin Title: Re: The Shark Post by: customFC on January 05, 2008, 12:26:25 AM Hey Robin.

Robin Title: Re: The Shark Post by: Errol62 on February 13, 2018, 07:24:33 AM Bloke came around yesterday to look at an EK shell I need gone. He brought up the subject of The Shark. Apparently he rescued it from the wreckers at Victor Harbor and it is at his place at Myponga.
