Title: FC V8 Racer
Post by: normd on October 04, 2003, 01:31:56 PM
I remember this car running at Amaroo Park in the early 70's , it was built by Bill Slattery ,I think he had a Chev V8 in it and he couldn't fit the steering box in  , so he did a swap and made it "Left hand drive" . Sounded REALLY great. If anyone remembers it , it was light Yellow.

(Mini on right is driven by a good friend of ours , Terry Sheil, he started racing RX3's & RX7's after Mini's)

Bill Slattery was a very good mate of mine, He was still racing (only he retired to go karts) until he got ill in end of 2011, I raced with him for he's last 10 yrs, He past away in Feb 2012
Some of the stories he told me about his racing career you will need to sit down for a week.
Wonderfull man sadly missed R I P Buddy
