Title: FE Holden special, standard, Vauxhall, Chev +
Post by: customFC on October 04, 2003, 05:24:18 AM
Here'a a pic of Holden's assembly line back in 56. A great shot showing the range of cars coming out of the one plant. FE special followed by a Vauxhall then a FE standard followed by a '56 Chevy.

Nice pic Alex,

I think a lot of these assembly line photos go a long way towards explaining the difficulty even the 'experts' have pinpointing what is original.

If you were on the assembly line, you wouldn't always be thinking or caring about your job.  Cars got painted different colours, different trims fitted etc.

One 'expert' in the grocery store car park can be one too many sometimes.

Cheers, Shayne.

Interestingly, some colours used on the 56 Chevys were identical colours including combinations to the FE's. Also, the armrests in an Aussie 56 Chevy are exactly the same as those on the FE.
