here is a pic of my fe ute.
i brought it 3 weeks ago from bruce rock
it is rust free and was garaged for the last year before that it was a farm ute.his kids took great pleasure in hand painting it as u can see.
well this weekend i start my mission and ill keep the pics posted as i go along
the bloke i brought it from had a ek sedan fb ute and ford custom line all in his shed as well,it was great
special thanks to gary stevens our pres from wa for tracking the ute down for me

the bloke i brought it from got a battery out of another car and put it in the fe and it click over and purred
we drove it out of the shed and onto the trailer

Kalfe......congrats on picking up a ute !    Should have bought the dog aswell, that way you'd have an instant entry to the DOG & UTE show !

Looking good there Dale...the drivers side looks pretty sound in the photo , hows the the rest looking rustwise

If its as good as the photo I reken you have a great base to start with

hi all
no burnsy that is in kambalda at warrens panel and paint,he is one guy i know loves old cars
he has 3 fe and 2 fc sedans in his yard
yeah the old bus in the back ground was left by a customer about 3 years ago
the uts has come up a treat
rh sill has been replaced rh fender has a dent which he is knocking out
he doesnt believe in using 8 inches of bog and so far
his work has been great
colour time is approaching
wontn be long trev and gary and ill be down to see you all
im actually thinking of doing terraglow red
something a bit different

yeah i went a had a look
they replaced the rh sill and front floor pan
the rest od the ute was amazing
the dent in the rh fender has been knocked out
warrens panel and paint have done a great job
ill put more pics on when it gets painted tomorrow
looks like u have to stock the bowser for summer
cause we will be coming your way
and finally go on one of the club runs

ok after sleepless nights of picking a colour
i went for the original ocean mist green
i just couldnt decide so the panel beater gave me the original colour,its in getting painted now so ill have a pic up tomorrow
thanks to ace and slim for the parts
many thanks to our wa pres gary who found the ute for me

Oceanmist is a nice colour, my (daughter's) FE Sedan looks good in it.  Be good to see the ute when painted.

the panel shop got broken into last night
they rammed the front fences and ute was stolen lucky it wasnt the fe

the colour is a little lighter than the picture
basically now we start to put it back together

yes the pic was in the shade and he blamed his office girl hehehe.he informs me that a new pic in  the sun will be posted today.trev the mechanical has been done
we left the motor due to is running like a dream so we decided not to touch it ,all tests have shown motor is in good nick.i had a worn out clutch
i have done the brakes and interior is next

someone asked me the other day if im going to put it in a shed and drive it once and month .no this ute which is named FAITH,she will be a daily driver ,she spent the last 20 years in a shed and about time she did some got out and got some sunlight

I am always envious when i see people with the know how and skills to restore an FE / FC like you are doing "Especially a UTE", I want one !

Good onya, Kalfe.  Nice finish on the paint job.

I'm like Mick - envious of you blokes who tackle these jobs - I shudder when I think about the day I lay the paint stripper on my car.

So what do you reckon - you started this thread on 3 October last year - will you have it up and running inside 12 months?  3rd October's got to be your target.

progress on ute is going well
found out my seat is cactus so im searching around
ace sent me the bonnet badge and it was in perfect nick so thanks ace
also a big thanks to slim the taillights were spot on
should have more pics up next week
we are sandblasting rims this weekend

got a mat from the east and slim has helped out again with some parts i was chasing so thanks mate
the seat got redone in perth and the bloke did a great job.we are at the moment we are doing the little things
i got to admit everytime i go out there i get a big smile on my face it looks great
hope to have some pics up shortly

Yes it was in wilson street in that house that looks like two brown soccer balls cut in half.I pulled the seat and door trims etc out of it last nite, the floors are like new all the way from firewall to rear bumper except for a bit around the spare wheel door.

got my parts from slim today and like usual they were perfect thanks heaps big fella
ute has gone from paint shop back into panel shop due to a ariel hole in the roof which wasnt picked up so its put us back but at the end of the day i want it done right
like usual wazza from warrens panel and paint has been great hope to have pics up again shortly

waiting om floormat which is arriving tuesday then interior will be finished

by the look of those white patches showing through,the roof needed to be redone anyway,or is that warpage from repair?as dents are  spread over a big area .
not been smartarse,just my ute has roof eriel fitted but roof looks clean and id hate to warp it fixing hole as im only a back yarder so the less damage the better for my limited skills,any advice gratefully accepted.

no we did alot of work on roof it has been painted now it came up perfect
it had been taken back in after the panel beater wasnt happy so im glad we fixed it up
this ute was just going to be a run around and then we decided to make it look a bit flash and give her a good restoration nicko im pretty happy the panel has 5 fe so hes a bit of a gun at them

floormat has arrived so we r just doing rims at the moment and putting all outside stuff on then its back to my place for interior and finishing off
hopefully be ready in feb
it has come up alot better than i thought

finally got the ute back from the panel beaters
ill be posting some new pics
about 3 weeks away from finishing
just adding all the little bits and pieces at the moment
this ute has given me the greatest thrill from the shed in bruce rock covered in dust to looking in showroom condition .when you see old restored cars on the road you dont realise how much work goes into bringing these old classics back .the best thing i did was joining this site everyone has been so helpful
ill have all the pics up this weekend

Getting closer Kalfe.  Very well done.  Good that you took some 'before' shots when you found the old dear too.  Are you going to cut loose with the spray can.  Didn't it have trick flames on it when you found the ute? ;)

got the shock of my life yesterday my fe ute has left the panel beaters after 2 long years or more and has headed to the trimmers for the final piece of work
the panel parked it outside of my work on a car trailer
she looked beautiful i will post some final pics soon
i have never seen so many new commodores utes drive past then do a u turn for a second look they must have been amazed with real metal and chrome
