Title: Replacing dash knob surrounds
Post by: Chrome Dome 1959 on June 17, 2023, 11:35:08 PM
Hi Gurus,
I have a spare set of new dash knob surrounds for my FC. The old surrounds have now got to a point that they are ready to replace.
Before I pull the dash fascia out and start this job, what is the best way to remove each knob assembly and body (ignition, wiper, lights, choke) from the fascia as it looks as though each one is attached differently to the fascia?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, there is some variety in how each knob is attached. Some are attached to cables, some have grub screws and so on.

The best answer is to check the Workshop Manual, which explains each one in depth. I can't recommend enough having a copy of this book if you own an FE or FC.

cheers
RET

Thanks RET. Good idea.
I have a re-production workshop manual so I will have a look through that.
