Title: AWA TRANSISTOR PRESSMATIC RADIO Post by: Mal W on October 10, 2022, 09:42:47 AM Hi all, I have a AWA pressmatic radio (model number 938B) and the wiring input plug has all broken.
I'm chasing a picture of the schematics for this radio if anyone can help. Thanks Mal Title: Re: AWA TRANSISTOR PRESSMATIC RADIO Post by: Stewy on October 10, 2022, 07:06:30 PM https://www.radioandelectronicsupply.com.au/product/australian-valve-radio-circuits-schemati/ ($2)
Hi Mal, This website might be worth a try. Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: AWA TRANSISTOR PRESSMATIC RADIO Post by: ardiesse on October 10, 2022, 08:34:05 PM Mal,
I've got a circuit diagram for the AWA 938, but tomorrow I'm going away with work for a couple of weeks. Instead, go to kevinchant.com and follow the link "Australian Car Radio Circuits" then AWA, then download the file called 938.pdf Rob Title: Re: AWA TRANSISTOR PRESSMATIC RADIO Post by: Mal W on October 10, 2022, 09:23:06 PM Thanks guys.
Rob I tried that site but couldn't find anything for the AWA 938B Title: Re: AWA TRANSISTOR PRESSMATIC RADIO Post by: old-blu on October 11, 2022, 10:54:18 AM Hi Mal. If all else fails, then give the following a call. Nostalgic Wireless, 63 Silverdale Rd, EAGLEMONT Vic. They have rebuilt a number of car radios for me.... even converted valve to transistor, as well as including AM/FM/IPOD connectivity, [all in the original case]. I found them good to deal with. Naturally, if you are on a "DIY" journey, then this might be your "plan B". Regards Kevin.

The AWA 938 pushbutton radio came in two versions: 938A, which is a "universal" type supplied with a 5" x 7" speaker; and the 938B, which is intended for Holdens, and is supplied with a 6" x 9" speaker. The two model numbers are identical electrically. In short: download the file 938.pdf from Kevin Chant's website. It's the correct one for your 938B. Rob |
