Title: Oil bath air filter Post by: Wookie 66 on September 20, 2021, 07:07:32 AM Hi everyone
A simple question What to use an oil bath air filter or later type with the long snout and paper element ? Cheers Title: Re: Oil bath air filter Post by: Harv on September 20, 2021, 07:57:45 AM Paper element type. They are more effective. The oil baths look cool (and are more correct on earlier engines) but are not as good at removing crap.

The oil filled unit is messy and way too easy to spill oil out of when you remove it too quickly and tilt it just a fraction too much. :P
I did once make an oil filled unit into a paper filter by cutting out the mesh section, so that is a possibility as well. Title: Re: Oil bath air filter Post by: Wookie 66 on September 20, 2021, 12:46:03 PM Thanks guys
I like to look and the correct period is a bonus Oil leaks are frustrating enough don’t need to add more The cut out conversion sounds like a good option Thanks for the info Cheers Title: Re: Oil bath air filter Post by: my8thholden on September 21, 2021, 07:28:31 AM Wooki ..I made a paper element conversion for my oil bath cleaner , the details are posted on this forum , I think its in part of " completed projects " if you want extra details can contact me direct if you wish to ...cheers vern
