Title: Re: ALIGNMENT OF 4 DOORS Post by: mcl1959 on February 26, 2020, 08:41:19 PM You definitely don’t want slop in the hinges before aligning the doors.
Try to use the original hinges whenever possible. Try to use the original doors if possible. Fit the rear doors to the body shell getting the gaps right as priority. This involves adjusting the bolts and by shimming under the hinge. If the rear doors have been changed you may have to rework the door for best results. Adjust the catches to bring the door in or out. Catches should not force the door up or down Fitting the front doors involves lifting or lowering both the front and rear of the door to achieve good results. Once again if doors have been changed they may need reworking. If hinges have been changed they may need bending to bring the door in or out to match the guard shape. Adjust the centre filler strip once the 4 doors are fitted correctly. There is a lot more detail in the workshop manual which you should find helpful.
