Title: Blue FE Special Sedan Post by: Shayne on September 01, 2003, 04:15:07 AM While searching for a wagon, I found a blue FE Special Sedan in a shed outside Toowoomba. I thought it was too good to leave there, so I brought it home. All original with an L series engine. The only mods I can see are gearbox floorshift and carpet.
The brakes are worn out from sitting around, and there is a small hole somewhere in the exhaust system. The top of the back seat and parcel shelf are sun damaged, but repairable. I plan to fix these few things and get the vehicle on club rego soon. By the way, I'm still looking for a wagon as an everyday driver. (see my post in Cars Wanted). I've probably given away my best secret to a bunch of other car buffs, but you never know what you'll find at aerodromes around the countryside.
Title: Re: Blue FE Special Sedan Post by: customFC on September 01, 2003, 11:51:49 AM Nice car Shayne.
Thanks for the tip.....i'm off to the local airport.....oh wait a minute, that's not going to help, Cat used to live there. Those would probably be her cars parked in the hanger. Regards Alex Title: Re: Blue FE Special Sedan Post by: graham_fuller on September 02, 2003, 12:56:32 AM Shayne,
Nice car good luck with the repairs. Cheers, Graham Title: Re: Blue FE Special Sedan Post by: Shayne on September 24, 2003, 10:23:58 PM I've just got back from getting the car registered. After a new muffler & tailpipe, $12 for wheel brake cylinder cups, and a bit of spit & polish, she passed roadworthy no problems.
The flashing red tail light/indicators caused the apprentice a bit of confusion, but when I showed him the Shop Manual, he was convinced. I even applied for & managed to get the black & white plates off dad's old EK. That was a stroke of luck since I've had the plates hanging in the shed for 20 years!
