Title: Blue FE Special Sedan
Post by: Shayne on September 01, 2003, 04:15:07 AM
While searching for a wagon, I found a blue FE Special Sedan in a shed outside Toowoomba.  I thought it was too good to leave there, so I brought it home.  All original with an L series engine.  The only mods I can see are gearbox floorshift and carpet.

The brakes are worn out from sitting around, and there is a small hole somewhere in the exhaust system.  The top of the back seat and parcel shelf are sun damaged, but repairable.

I plan to fix these few things and get the vehicle on club rego soon.

By the way, I'm still looking for a wagon as an everyday driver.  (see my post in Cars Wanted).

No Gary, but it's amazing how many old cars & bikes etc end up in the back of aircraft hangars.  I've probably given away my best secret to a bunch of other car buffs, but you never know what you'll find at aerodromes around the countryside.

Nice car Shayne.
Thanks for the tip.....i'm off to the local airport.....oh wait a minute, that's not going to help, Cat used to live there. Those would probably be her cars parked in the hanger.
Regards
Alex

I've just got back from getting the car registered.  After a new muffler & tailpipe, $12 for wheel brake cylinder cups, and a bit of spit & polish, she passed roadworthy no problems.

The flashing red tail light/indicators caused the apprentice a bit of confusion, but when I showed him the Shop Manual, he was convinced.

I even applied for & managed to get the black & white plates off dad's old EK.  That was a stroke of luck since
I've had the plates hanging in the shed for 20 years!
