Title: fe van rear floor
Post by: fe van on January 16, 2020, 04:01:50 PM
Hi All,
In the spare wheel area of my floor there is a section that has been cut and lifted? would this have been for towbar wiring? I cant see why you would do this and just wondering has anyone seen this before. (see pic)

thanks
Darren

Hi Darren,
Probably to access the bumper iron captive nuts fixed inside outer chassis rail edge, or the tailgate hinge captive nuts. These tend to seize and come loose from their fixings.
Cheers

I’d say the the captive nut was either rusted or stripped so the rail cut to gain access?

Yep ,captive nuts broke loose . In my FC this happened ,I went right through with crush tubes and bigger bolts .
