Title: Re: Gosford Museum Auction . Post by: old-blu on April 10, 2019, 09:56:56 AM Vern. Good friends of ours purchased one of these new, during the "run out", prior to the release of the EH. Same colour combination. I was driving an MG TF1500 @ the time ,however, would have gladly swapped it for the EJ. Probably should have kept the MG. The swap value is still about the same being around the &30-40K now. I thought the "Hamburger" taillights & the small rear fender fins did it for me. [ That was until I saw my 1st EH Prem with the 179HP & Gold metallic paint.]. Great to reminisce with the value of Hindsight about these great models. In 1964/5 the EH Premier Wagon was one of the most sought after cars in NZ. Kevin.

Post by: my8thholden on April 10, 2019, 08:10:46 PM HI Kevin ..yes with hind sight there are a lot of things especially cars we should have kept..You mentioned EH wagons ,the New Zealand high commission EH Premier was sold last year over in WA .A very special vehicle it made $100,000 ..My Dad passed away when I was 11 yrs old ..And Mum worked really hard in her own millinery business ..In 1960 or '61 ,Mum bought a FE sedan from JA Gilbert at Waitara..It was the closest thing to a new car we had ever owned ,much excitement ,one thing that I saw happiness in my Mum,and she washed it ,it was a while before she let me ,I am sure that is what made me forever attached to FE/FC Holdens...She traded it on a HD Premier X2 manual in 1966..In 1967 I bought a '54 FJ Sed as my first car ..Traded it on a EH Sed in 1969.
The FC I am doing now is same model and colour my fiancée ( now wife ) had in 1970.. I could fill a book on cars ..that will do for now ..cheers Vern |
