Title: 10th FE-FC Nats (Bulletin 02)
Post by: Tailshaft_Tim on August 16, 2003, 02:27:53 AM

Welcome FE-FC Fans to the 2nd "10th Nats" bulletin...

Firstly, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who provided feedback and encouragement regarding our monthly updates, it has been very much appreciated.  In turn, we'd love to see a few more club members registering their interest, especially those from Vic and SA...  NSW & Qld have taken an early lead in numbers (see table below).

Jindabyne Snowed Under

By now, the 10th Nats Committee had hoped to provide all of you with confirmed 2005 prices for accommodation at Jindabyne's Station Resort.  Unfortunately, resort management is still well and truly snowed under (pun intended) and will get back to us after the 2003 Ski Season.  Stay tuned for 10th Nats entry forms once 2005 meal prices have been confirmed.

Entrant Goodies Bag

To celebrate the 10th Nats, the Committee is working hard to provide an excellent value goodies bag for entrants.  Entrants will receive a polo shirt featuring the 10th Nats logo, 2 dinner vouchers, and quality collectible items, veering away from the usual assortment of printed material.  We also hope to make several items of clothing available to purchase including caps, mugs etc plus an extra special 10th Nats polar fleece vest to stay warm in the snowies.

Registering Interest

Please encourage your fellow club members to check out the Nationals website at http://www.fefcholden.org.au/nats/nationals.html and register their interest by contacting me by email.  When you hit the hyperlink, you may have to hit "refresh" to update the information.  As of end July, the state by state breakdown is:

TOTAL = 53
19 New South Wales
14 Queensland
10 Australian Capital Territory
6 Victoria
3 South Australia
1 Tasmania

"See you in the Snowies"
Cheers, Tim.

Thanks for the info Tim.
Good to see that there will be a proper Nats polo shirt for this one. The last Nats in Qld had a novelty shirt that appealed to many people, I just wasn't one of them. The other merchandise sounds great also, I will probably be down for one of everything. That Nats polar fleece 'vest' though sounds like it will need the sleeves to truely keep us warm.....how 'bout it?
Regards
Alex

Make a fashion statement, Alex!  Take an extra pair of leg-warmers with you and sew 'em onto the vest.

Tim, don't listen to him.  A vest is a much better idea.  It's alright for Alex, but for those of us who look like the Michelin Man in a ski parka, not so much....

cheers

Thanks guys, the 10th Nats committee is keen to receive feedback all the way up to Easter 2005...  part of our aim for the monthly updates is to keep people well informed and provide plenty of opportunity to comment etc.

Once we have confirmed some prices for Nats merchandise and clothing, we'll be polling potential entrants for their views on the options available.  When the sun is out in the alpine regions during Autumn, vests not only look good but do the job of preventing the old "perisher blue" nipples  :)

Stay tuned!
Cheers, Tim.

 :) :) :)   G.day Tim,

I've seen the boss & booked my holidays for easter 2005. Looking forward to meeting everybody on the snow(?)fields. Iguess I don't need to load the longboard on the roofracks  :( :( :(

G'day Surferboy

Thanks for registering your interest, we're all looking forward to meeting the convoy as it arrives all the way from WA!  We hope to get a response from the Station Resort soon, in order to provide an update & entry forms.

In my experience, I can't recommend strapping longboards to the tops of FC wagons...  with the awesome speeds our '58 beasts generate, they're at serious risk of taking off!

Then again, it might be worth a test across the Nullabor, as I did hear GWBush saying he wanted to replace the NASA Shuttles by 2010.

Goodluck getting here either way, we'll all be praying for you!  Cheers, Tim.

April in the Snowy's is still shirt sleeve time for us locals from the frosty area however if you are planning to travel from the salty or dusty areas you may need a pompom hat and some anti freeze.
You will enjoy the climate.
