Title: Wiper Motor for 1958 FC Holden S/W
Post by: fc25250 on September 19, 2016, 09:32:48 AM
My 58 FC Holden Station Wagon Wiper motor (Vacuum) is stuffed so I am contemplating putting an electric one into her.
Questions:- The FE FC electric motors I am told are Oscillating rather than rotational (Is this correct?) Am also told that a motor from an EK will do the job as it oscillates
Already bought a motor supposedly out of an FC but no good as it rotates.
Whats the story & can anybody help me out
Thanks in anticipation

The EK motor rotates. I did the conversion many years ago and it worked fine. I recall using the FC actuators and the EK cranks.

I have an FB vacuum motor if you want it. Condition unknown.

The rare NASCO accessory electric wiper motor for FC does in fact oscillate - it actually bolts up to the original vacuum motor backing plate.
Problem is they are very thin on the ground.

The EK motor rotates and is pretty much a bolt in deal into the FC, however, if you're buying one, make sure it has the 2 small arms on the back as it is useless without these.
