Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: zulu on February 15, 2016, 02:32:59 PM This the B pillar switch found on Business Sedans it was also used on FE FC Business Sedans
Being on the drivers side B pillar it can be awkward to reach around to use and is somewhat superfluous as you can just reach up and use the dome light switch Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: Not Happy Jan on February 15, 2016, 03:04:49 PM First time I've seen one advertised.
Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: texmorton on February 16, 2016, 05:01:25 PM I have a '46 Buick sedan which has the same switch on the pillar behind the driver with no switch on the actual light on the roof. Probably the same switch used on all GM cars of the late 40's I reckon. Al
Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: mcl1959 on February 17, 2016, 08:23:27 PM I don't believe this is an FX FJ or an FE FC switch. I think it is an old GM pillar switch as Al suggests.
There are photos on the forum that I will try and find. Ken Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: mcl1959 on February 17, 2016, 08:27:45 PM This is the FE FC one and typical of FX FJ
(http://s7.postimg.org/f5u3fqwaf/image.jpg) ($2) I have one here.........somewhere......... Ken Title: Re: taxi switch Post by: texmorton on February 18, 2016, 10:32:11 AM The switch you have a photo of Ken is also used in GM cars of the 40's. I have another '46 Buick wreck with this switch on it so there are a couple of types that were used. If anyone wants one of those switches (either type) look for a 1946-47-48 Buick, Chev or Pontiac wreck.
