First, it is the highest ute body number that I have on record for Melbourne production. Second, the chassis number is only 142 away from the army sedan in the Bandiana museum in Wodonga. This would mean they were possibly made on the same day. Conclusions - the army ordered and received a batch of vehicles from the Melbourne plant at the very end of the FC production. Possibly because they were cheaper at this time rather than buying the new FB model. There are a few other vehicles in between these two, so the production run was not 142 vehicles, rather more likely was that a batch of Utes went down the line followed by a batch of sedans soon after.
