Title: Fuel Sender Removal
Post by: tp.mc on October 14, 2015, 01:13:48 AM
Howdy All,
As you can see, I have a fuel leak at the join between tank and sender.
Other posts suggest this is nothing more than a gasket that needs replacing.
Those other posts showed senders that were simply screwed in but as you can see, mine has no screws.
So my question is: HOW DO I REMOVE THE SENDER TO REPLACE THE GASKET

We can't see anything actually.
If there are no screws the sender should just come out, someone may have used an adhesive in place of screws though, making the task all the more difficult.

You need to pry up the cover plate to reveal the sender and screws.

Same thing happened to me 6months ago. Filled tank to the brim and found this issue next morning. Pry up the cap as suggested to reveal 5 screws. There is a gasket beneath  but also seals under screw heads to prevent fuel coming up the threads as the female threads are not blind holes. Rares sell gasket and seals kit with new screws. Two screw  heads on mine were so rusty i was lucky to get them out.
