I read this somewhere but cant find it, Why cant you cut the standard FC outrigger off and use it on the HR crossmember when fitting it to an FC

The centre of the FE FC suspension sits lower than later models. This caused some bending during the model run so part of the fix on FB was to raise the centre of the suspension up a couple of inches.
This height remained the same from FB right through to HR so the outrigger from and FB EK EJ or EH when fitted to an HR suspension will bolt straight into an FE FC, but on the other hand if you fit an FE FC outrigger to an HR suspension then it will sit 2 inches too high.
You can cut and section an FE FC outrigger to fit but if a later one is available it's much easier and neater to use.
Hope this clarifies the situation
Ken

Just wanted to say we sectioned all of them including the fe-fc to leave clearance to put the Torana racks over the top and still be below the crossmember and with a little die grinding you wont pick it .
