Try rodeo or hilux are a better starting point. I havent seen anyone doing this recently. There were a few years ago doing different conversions. But never to be seen again. Joint would be done something similar to the way a HQ graft is put on a 57 Chev for example, but narrowed as well. You would need a narrowed diff, but that's nothing special. Narrowed Commodore rack for the front.
I've never seen or heard of this being attempted. Maybe for good reason........ If you are looking for rigidity, then a 3/4 chassis is very effective. If you are trying to incorporate new suspension, then I think it would be "easier".. (sorry the same amount of work) and more elegant to fabricate new rails and floor to suit your suspension and drive line.
