Title: Winder washers
Post by: DJ on May 16, 2015, 08:55:36 PM
Can someone please tell me the purpose of these foam rubber washers (no. 26) ???
I'm guessing they fit to the winder regulator.

I would have thought to stop dust ingress into the cab.

I read that from someone selling them but there are none on the door handles.

They fit on the regulator and go behind the door trim.

maybe because the winder goes into the door cavity where as the door opener doesnt its only a rod going back to the door mechanism ?

Would anyone happen to have the diameter & thickness for these?
The car is a few hours away & to buy the kit with post is >$20.

Thanks Greg. Thought I'd just cut some left over foam rubber used in concrete joints.
Assuming it's similar material, what do they measure in thickness & diameter?

Dave, the felt washer fits around the winder post on the regulator and is forced onto the inside of the door frame when the regulator is screwed into position. The spring goes between the door and the trim and the metal washer goes between the handle and the trim. As the others have said, the felt pad would be to stop dust and rattles.
