Title: How should FC blinkers work?
Post by: CoolFCWgn on February 23, 2015, 08:24:44 PM

Can someone confirm how the rear blinkers on an FC should work?

When I apply the brakes, both the rear blinkers and brake lights come on. When the blinker is used the appropriate rear one flashes and the other side turns off.

Looking at the wiring diagram this looks correct, having a wire that runs up from the brake light switch. If I disconnect this they work normally.

Thanks.

Ian.

The blinkers should just go on then off then on then off ....then repeat.... :P  But seriously check that all the globe holders are earthed properly and give them a good clean with fine steel wool and make sure the earth wires are on clean steel with no paint build up. Cheers, Jamie.

Early FC has the brakes and blinkers on the same globe. Red indicators. Steering column switch has six wires coming out and the wiring is routed through the brake light switch.
Late FC has lower yellow indicators and three wires from switch, no routing through brake light switch.
Make sure you have not got a mixture of the two systems.

I think Jamie is correct. They should go on and off until you cancel them with the stork. 😚
