Post by: Ed on July 02, 2003, 04:52:53 AM
Hi,

this is a vaguely FE?C related question...

Im trying to remove injectors from a fuel rail (commodore)  do I just remove the clip and pull them out or is there a trick??  They seem stuck on the O ring??.. I dont want to break them.

any help appreciated..

Cheers

Ed

Hi Ed

To remove the injectors, slide the retaining clip back and away and then they should come out.  Sometimes they get a little stuck and need some coaxing.  You can "gently" pry them out but be careful not to damage the casing.  When reinstalling them, add a little motor oil to the o-ring to assist them easing back into the fuel rail.  If you do break or damage the injector o-ring, they are mostly readily available from GMH/parts stores etc...

Hi Ed

I know the car that you are talking about, its the one that usually parks in Balmain Road.  It's just behind the Coles which means that I get to see it each time I'm out shopping.  If it was mine it would probably be about six inches lower ;D ;D ;D
