Title: FE Ute tray cover
Post by: perth_ute on December 13, 2014, 12:42:48 AM
Hello, looking into cover ideas for the back tray. Currently have I assume the original with the pins around the edges but I have also seen one where the edge is hidden. Would love to see ideas and rough costs.

That's what I'd be doing. My VZ ute was pretty neat like that. Go to a car yard and check one out.

If you go with the press studs make sure you get the right ones from an upholstery supplier or the car behind you will wear the cover .Cheers Haydn

I think thats a good option. If you start pulling fabric over the edge of paint etc it rubs back to bare metal and if not being used all the time it starts rusting. Like  NES go look. You could even go to a wrecker if they let you browse and find the type you like and cut off as a sample. I've had lots of utes and u can go for the heavy duty eyelet with swivel. It depends if you want to make them a feature or have them inconspicuous. Gee that's a big word. I think go for boat quality and the front of the tarp could be secured with these twist ones on the front. You need to decide if you want them as a feature. These were good on front of my rodeo. The ones at the left side of the pic. Very strong. I like talking Utes. Sometimes it suits it to have a more Industrial look.  (http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14/12/12/80424438fc99459a69d00544d56f7bd9.jpg)
