hi there is no one place in toowoomba where we all can stay
the events will all be staged from the local toowoomba car club
these motels and caravan parks are as close as we can get
there is also a religious convention on the other side off town
thats why we have recommended these ones
ps book early if you can

Slightly dearer than others, but hoping it allows us to capture some nice pics with the van during the weekend. It's nice and quiet, close to the centre of town and a short drive to the showgrounds.

Hi Graeme, not too sure yet but it will be a leisurely drive of at least 3 days I imagine. We are booked in from Thurs- leaving Tue morn. Might do the theme parks with the boys, not sure yet. We will likely run a couple of convoys from VIC as different people have different lengths of time off to attend.  Derrick

booked into  the Toowoomba motor village. This will be my first ever nationals

 ;) Just letting everyone know that the Big 4 is fully booked out for cabins, only powered sites left.

Judi and I will be there but without a car this time. We are planning to head off at the end of June with our 5th wheeler (and border collie) for twelve months or so.
All we need to do is find a pet friendly park nearby and maybe a pet minder for a couple of nights  ::)

Hi all just an update from nats 16 commitee
at this stage all is going well
As you all know we only have 8 weeks from entry closing date on31st january till beginning of the nats
last time this happened the closing date was brought forward,we wont be doing that but anyone who can get there
entry in early will be greatly appreciated
some of our merchandise suppliers need numbers on 1st of feb,so there will be no late entries

Bec and I and the boys have entered and have booked a powered site at the Big 4. I was quite proud of myself (for booking last year) until Bec reminded me that we wouldn't have the Winnebago anymore. (She was right, after six months on the market, it finally sold last Friday).

So now we need a caravan. Is anyone towing a caravan to Toowoomba this year?

 :D :D Yep all booked in and entered BUT without EFFEE.  We have sold her to a very nice man who has other veteran/vintage/classic vehicles. Why, you ask. Well as Greg's back became increasingly worse for wear, it became apparent that he wouldn't be able to keep up with her need for attention.  As we have now established ourselves in Tantanoola (south east SA) and growing our own fruit and vegetables, it became apparent that we were spending little time with her and the last thing we wanted was to see her waste away. I have no regrets as we are very busy with our lifestyle now and loving it!!!!  See you all soon. Luv Greg and Kate (Hotlips)

 Hi Greg & Kathy.  Good luck with your move & new "life style". I have a great photo of  "GREY-POWER", "EFFEE" & "OLD-BLU" @ the 3rd Nats in Adelaide after the Show-n-Shine. You, Jim & I look to be from a previous lifetime!  Difficult to believe it was in 1991..... only 25 blinks ago!    Difficult to have regrets about moving our cars on to next owners. You maintained EFFEE & enjoyed the friendships made over some 15 Nationals. Hopefully "she" continues on into the future & to quote you Kathy... "may it be a long one". Well, in 4 weeks time we should all be there enjoying the nationals and enjoying meeting up with our FE-FC "Family" again.

Not long to go now, we are leaving on the 19th for a leisurely drive to Toowoomba.

A local artist has added a FC Ute to his collection, we are planning to bring over some prints for anyone who is interested.

There are four options:
297mm X 210mm (A4) in colour (as shown in photo) or black and white for $20
or
420mm X 297mm in colour or black and white for $35

they are printed on 3mm PVC board.

if you think you would like one let us know so we have a bit of an idea how many to bring.

We actually have a longer trip than you - first time ever, only 1600km  :)

We are starting our journey on Friday 11th March, heading to Wangaratta for a start as our other Club, the Early Holden Car Club of Wang, is holding a combined Show & Shine with the Cadillac & LeSalle  Club on Sunday 13th.

Staying in Toowoomaba at the Big 4 in our Camper trailer  ;D

come Trevor this is our bi annual holiday we will take a few days to get there. Then 2 weeks to get home after. Taking in all the op and second hand shops we come across.

 :(Sorry Surferboy but have sold nearly all parts along with the restorable ute.  Just keep a lookout for a Land Rover with the numberplates "HOTLIPS".  Cheers

On the way home now.

I thought I had finished with all things Ambulance related but have stopped for breky in Warrick at the Coffee Club and the chap next me told me that this building was the old Warrick Ambulance station!
