Title: Holding you in my Holden
Post by: leon on June 30, 2003, 07:41:40 AM
;)G Day Fellows. Ive recently ask Graham Fuller for a copy of the song called Holding you in my Holden. He does have it but there are a lot of scratches through out the song.
So if there is anyone out there that could help me with a good copy  on tape or CD  would be very much appreciated. Can you help?
Regards Leon. ;)URL

Hey Leon
I don't have a copy of the original, but that song was performed in the musical Shout, and appears on the soundtrack CD. I have a copy of that version if you want.
Regards
Alex

Hey Leon, Its Leon here, Did you know that John wanner has a version of this song on his CD wich is available for $40 + $5 postage, it sounds pretty close to the origional, there is also a track called the FE holden valve bounce boogie.
To hear a sample go to the JW swing orchestra site, I have recently got a copywrite release from John and will be using some of his music in the Newcastle shootout film festival.
If you like collecting holden songs dont forget to look for ol 55 's FJ holden and Daddy cool's love in a FJ, the only way to get love in a FJ is to buy a 3 box set wich was available for about 8 months I think in 92, it was never before released and is part of three songs joined called teanage heaven, the other two are called teen love and drive in movie, I think they were made in 72 but never made it to the record stores till 92.
Another song mentioning old Holdens is the Newcastle song by bob Hudson.
There is also some new stuff by the holden V8 symphony orchestra for new holden people and they use holden V8's are used for musical instruments.

:)G day fellows. A big thanks for your replies re, recording. I think i'll go with the original recording and get a copy from Graham. Talking to him yesterday he convinced me its a recording from a 78rpm on tape and for that reason its common to have surface noise.
So i'll give it a go and put it through  my spin doctor program on the computer and try to erase some of those scratches from the recording.   ( heres hoping)
Regards Leon. ;)

I have a copy of the song - Joan Clarke with Lou Toppano & His Orchestra circa 1948.
Comes from a radio-only 78rpm promotional record on genuine Holden label - no scratches or hiss.
A lovely piece of original Holden memorabilia.
Just need an email address
