Title: Car numbers Post by: fe350chev on November 30, 2014, 11:16:55 AM If a vehicle is an FC Special Sedan, the 18,852nd manufactured in Adelaide. Is it roughly a May to August 58 build? If the same car has a engine number L464904
I'm assuming this engine would be for this car but I need to know how far ahead in production the engines were Title: Re: Post by: fe350chev on November 30, 2014, 11:27:41 AM Head is 7409457. Does that timeframe match engine.

Title: Re: Post by: fe350chev on November 30, 2014, 11:51:25 AM My plan is to use the running gear from the blue fe in the fc taxi so I can have it ready to drop in the taxi. Can anyone see any sense in my thinking, I though that because the taxi doesn't have original engine in it that I may as well keep the blue cars if they do all belong together cos I'm going to keep both for a while. I probably won't get rid of the taxi for ages cos I've always wanted to do a theme but I got a real one that I wasn't expecting. Then I will refurbish the original parts in the taxi and store them. I know the taxi engine is from a later car, but it's still one I want to keep cos the original privateer taxi driver had another four taxis but he loved his fc so he rented an inner city house to store the others but I confirmed with his old neighbour who still lives next to the house where it was operating from way out on the southern fringe of Adelaide, who confirmed he used the fc solely as his taxi but I believe he would have used the engine from another of his taxis when it needed it's first rebuild. I'm keen to get that engine open cos it's probably done a heap of km.

Title: Re: Post by: fe350chev on November 30, 2014, 01:35:34 PM Na reason why is I use my phone and am doing three things at once so cos I had to go outside while holding something it might have made me hit the touch screen. Also I live out bush and using this without WiFi and antenna, you can write big posts and loose them. But why does it bother you?
