Title: question - for the Guru Ken ????
Post by: samprinci2 on July 12, 2014, 11:59:46 PM
hi all,
was asking a question on the FB EK forum, regarding the radiator hoses, wondering if the EJ left the fatory with the part number painted on hoses, or the sticker ..

anyway I found the pix of the FE at the GMH proofing ground. Stewy suggested i post it here to as it has a very interesting ID tag. if some could explain what the ID means..
Im not an expert on FE FCs but looks a little different??

Thanks for posting Sam. All I can make out from the tag is that it is stamped on an FJ series style tag.
17323 is Polar White.
The other paint number and the trim code are unlisted numbers in any of the reference books that I have.
Obviously one of the first FE,s  maybe EXperimental.?

Thanks Sam for posting the pic. Very unusual.

I'd lay odds that this is the same car that appears in a handful of advertisements. There are both colour and black and white versions of it, with an elegantly dressed lady sitting in the driver's seat, with the photo taken from the passenger doorway. In the colour versions of that image, the interior is red and white.

What makes that photo noteworthy is the white wheel, column and radio fascia, just like this car has.

And I'd agree with Stewy, it's either EXperimental or EXample.
