Title: Forum Unusually (and Unusably) Slow...
Post by: RET on May 26, 2014, 11:27:49 PM
Some users - maybe all users - could be experiencing extreme slowness and unresponsiveness from the forum. I'm actively investigating it, and will update this thread if/when there is any progress.

Sorry, at this stage there's no timeframe for resolution, as we are still trying to determine the cause of the problem.

Thanks for working on the problem Richard.
I was thinking it was my laptop playing up, so the upside for me is that it isn't.  ;D
Regards
Alex

What's intriguing* is that other sub-sites: /nsw, /nats, /wa etc are unaffected, it is only /forum that's behaving this way.

Also, it does not appear that Tapatalk is affected - that is still quite responsive.

cheers
RET

*I'm not really intrigued, not at this time of night...

Thank God others are experiencing the same problem. I thought it was a problem at my end. I was going to post an enquiry but I fell asleep waiting for the page to respond! Thanks for looking into it and good luck trying to sort it out.
Regards Ole.

Well, we're back. And we've moved.

The forum is now at http://forum.fefcholden.club

Any links or bookmarks you have from the old site should still work, as they'll get redirected here. Unfortunately, you'll have to log in again. If you've forgotten your password, this might be an issue.

For those of you using Macs, you can probably recover your password using the Keychain Access application. Open it, do a search for 'fefc', and you should be able to locate your credentials. For those with PCs, you'll have to go through the 'Lost Password' routine, unless there's any way to retrieve your credentials from your browser.

In time, the old fefcholden.org.au domain will get reconfigured to also point to this new server. For the time being, the individual club sites are still there, and the forum here.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

cheers
RET

PS: If you notice any weirdness with the forum's behaviour, please let me know ASAP

I've realised that anyone using Tapatalk may have still been seeing the old forum. I've now fixed that, but please make sure that your Tapatalk settings are up to date.

Anyone else having the problem that REDMR2RED mentioned?

The only thing I've noticed is the Spell-Check is no longer available.

As far as I can see the speed issue is resolved.

Away for a few days & had to log in earlier today, but have remained logged in after closing out when I hit the shortcut 4 hours later.
Speed seems back to normal.
