Gordon, the paint for the wagon is Corsair Tan over India Ivory with Corsair Tan roof. The trim code is not correct, 315 is two tone paint as above, but the 255 will not register(could be 855which is Mesa Tan & Parchment Ivory. The wagon was made in Sydney and assembled in Adelaide.
Regards, Jim

Well done Jim. I agree that the trim code is 855 Mesa Tan and Parchment Ivory.
All the wagons and panel vans were made in Adelaide as the roof panel could only be stamped out at the Woodville press.
Then were sent to other states to be assembled.

The wagon was made around 10 Dec 1959. It is a rare colour and trim combo - I only have 6 recorded and yours is the only Sydney assembled one.

FC wagons were also made in Melbourne.
All vans were made in Adelaide

Thanks Ken that's interesting may have to keep it as original as possible, Yes Jim the code is 855 really need to get glasses, so this is the origanal colours

It came with all the chrome bits and s/steel except the two front guard strips so looking for some, the grill is in great condition, but no motor or box ,seats are fair cond and could be used as is with a stitch here and there

I could be wrong, but the details say your wagon is the other way round. Body colour is Corsair Tan and insert is India Ivory, so it would be the opposite to that in the photo.

Yep, that's what makes it a rare combo. Most were made the same as the pic shown.
There is a Royal Auto magazine cover which shows the colour scheme someone may have....

Hey Gordon, for what it is worth, I would be restoring it to it's original glory because of it's rarity. It's not often one comes along, so it would be great to have it back on the road the way it came from the factory.
All the best with what ever you decide, Jim

Yeah I'm with you Nes i like colour on top combo but if this is a rare combo i think i will try to rebuild as original as possible, did have plans to put the nethews supercharged V6 auto in it
Got a few questions ,is there away to find what the original engine number was ? as the bloke i bought it off had the motor that was in it and wanted it to put in another car he had, if it is the original i will try to swap him with the motor i have here, and can i be sure it has the original subframe ?
Thanks Gordon

Hi Gordon,
I can answer that the original engine number should be after L640000
Subframe number I will leave to Ken, but could be original.

Subframe number appears to be original according to the data base.
I would not worry about it being a rare colour combo or not. Often rare colours are that way because just as most of you say, you like it better the other way round.
Rare colours are usually combinations that were not popular in the day and even now still look a bit wrong.
They are of course interesting to people like me, but that does not mean that it is a worthwhile reason to restore it if you had another idea for it.

It will certainly not make it worth any more than any other car.

Hope this adds some clarity.
Ken
