I used that post as a guide to fitting my door rubbers and it was a huge help. No mention in there of the door belts / weather belts installation tho. Have tried most things to get them to fit but no luck so far. Clearly I am doing something wrong..... Post by: FCRB26 on May 08, 2014, 09:22:21 AM maybe check the hole hasnt got any paint or anything in it (like the old clip) and come up from underneath with a large flat blat screw driver and gently rotate the blade so it pushes it into the hole making sure you do not crimp the stainless or tear the belt?
I remeber mine were extremely tight i think i used a piece of flat bar from underneath and a shifter off the flat bar to rotate it into the hole.. Pete Title: Re: Door belts.... Check the holes are clear and the metal around them is bent. Title: Re: Door belts.... Post by: FCrob on May 18, 2014, 03:47:04 PM When I replaced mine with the rare spares ones, I couldn't push the clips in until i closed up the clips slightly using pliers. Seem to remember the first 2 clips broke, luckily I was able to reuse clips from the original door belt rubbers.
They pushed in easily using a large flat blade. |
