Title: Mechanic in melbourne
Post by: FE_UTE on April 01, 2014, 03:01:37 PM
G'day fellas

I have just picked up my fc from transport and it is running rough as guts...went for a 50k run to try and blow the cobwebs out....
however it made no diffence
Was tuned up and running fine when loaded in perth
It may have been the trip over that has stirred up some stuff in the tank

It's flooding on prolonged idle and starving under acceleration

Anyone know where in melbourne I can get a 465 Holley tuned ASAP

Cheers
Gary

All the companies I have worked for have used Kennedy's in Williamstown
That's only about 20 minutes from boat

Can't vouch for any others as I do all my own work on my cars

All sorted ...found a hot rod builder in Croyden . Rang up went straight out, he put a kit through and got it going sweet

John is absolutely correct .Not enough people in this world will ask "why?" Just go through life and believe in magic .Just recently a guy stopped at my front gate asking me for carburettor help .He had changed his carburettor and the one he was running was the wrong size and was flooding .It was obvious as soon as I lifted the bonnet that the problem was rust in the fuel tank as the pump was full of scale . "What happened to the original carb?",I asked "I took it off because it was leaking" he replied. I cleaned up the original carburettor and told him to get his tank cleaned out before putting it back on . Haydn
