Title: FC Wagon Post by: Trevor_B on February 14, 2014, 06:54:04 PM After a couple of years working on an FC Wagon we have finally got her moving under her own power.
Introducing "Elsie", sister to Beatrice (FC Sedan) and Lily (FC Ute): (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon1.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon2.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon3.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon4.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon5.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon6.JPG) (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon7.jpg) The girls together: (http://members.optusnet.com.au/blackct/wagon8.JPG) We bought the wagon semi finished from Lester Hilli (Yellow FE Panel Van with Glenmix logos) several years ago and stored her under cover until retirement allowed the required time for a full ground up resto (still took 2 years though :-\ ) We had considered taking her to the Nats but at this stage still have Lily (the ute with canopy) registered. The ute has the record with us after the 10,000km Perth Nats trip and is a really nice car to drive. So... with a sedan, ute and now wagon in hand we only need a Panel Van to complete the set :D Ohh, and a new place to live as we are already busting at the seams - 5 cars and a camper trailer on a normal city house block is a real challenge so an extra car would mean something's out on the street. Cheers, Trevor_B Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: mcl1959 on February 14, 2014, 08:01:53 PM Well done Trev, you don't need a panel van, you need an FE ;D
Ken Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: FE_UTE on February 14, 2014, 08:03:58 PM Good work Trev
Nice collection you have there Yep you need an FE.... Cheers Gary Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Stewy on February 14, 2014, 09:11:00 PM I love the wagon Trev. Elsie looks spectacular. What is the colour combo?
Have to agree with Ken and Gary. You need a FE :D Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: FCRB26 on February 14, 2014, 09:23:35 PM Looks fantastic ..
Silly question (i dont own a wagon either) are the rear venetians upside down something looks different ? All i need is a wagon for a set wish my wife had the same enthusiasm. Pete Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Stewy on February 14, 2014, 09:31:12 PM Venetians cant go in upside down.(I tried) It looks like the blades have been flattened and need some gentle bending.
Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: FCRB26 on February 14, 2014, 09:34:28 PM Thanks for that.. i wish i bought the green one in newcastle last year i was dissapointed i missed it.
Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Trevor_B on February 14, 2014, 09:47:03 PM Thanks guys,
I'm pretty happy with it ;D Not sure about the FE bit.... I wouldn't knock one back but as my first car was an FC sedan (much like Beatrice) I do have a liking for this model. Pete, I'm not sure about the venetians either, they came with the car but don't quite look right do they. As Stewy said, you can't put them in any other way (I tried too). Also, I am quite lucky, my wife Chris is right into our cars as well. In fact Lily (the green ute) is actually her car :) - if I want to drive it I need to be quick into the driver's seat. When we take the ute to the Nationals she enters and I am the +1 ;D Cheers, Trevor_B Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: FCRB26 on February 14, 2014, 09:56:50 PM Maybe there fb ek ?
Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Stewy on February 14, 2014, 10:02:50 PM No pete, totally different shape. Only purchased mine 4 weeks ago from the factory that has been making them since 1948.
Will post a picture tomorrow of what mine look like. They look right but they look like they have been stored flat at some stage and bent the blades. Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Stewy on February 15, 2014, 09:56:09 AM Very happy with how mine look.

Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Not Happy Jan on February 15, 2014, 09:26:08 PM Nice wagon.congratulations.
Nick Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: ekute on February 15, 2014, 09:50:28 PM I know this sounds opportunistic but I can help you out by looking after one or more of your FC's
Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Trevor_B on February 16, 2014, 08:58:44 AM Thanks guys,
Stewy, your venetians look much better than mine, looks like I need to massage mine. Colour is non-standard.... white is Alpine White from VN Commodore and Green is a custom metallic mix (a close match to interior trim) with clear coat over. Having 3 cars and 2 drivers will be a bit of a challenge EKUte but I have some kids who a prepared to help out thanks anyway ;) Cheers, Trevor_B Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Ole on February 16, 2014, 12:30:49 PM Well done Trevor, all your cars look great.
Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: pedro on February 16, 2014, 02:20:15 PM Very nice Trevor, I may be biased but i still reckon the FE-FC wagon is the best looking of all the early Holdens. 8) 8)
Pedro Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Stewy on February 16, 2014, 05:11:34 PM Where is that LIKE button. Could not of said that any better Pedro. :)
Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: HAD 708 on February 17, 2014, 11:52:36 PM Trvor
The wagon looks great!! The venetians are fine though you need to manually and carefully bend the ends down so they run in line with the fronts. Brett Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: Bessie_3 on February 18, 2014, 02:42:04 PM Great wagon Trevor, you and Chris must be very proud of the result. I had to look twice at the colour because my first FC was a wagon that looked very similar to yours though mine were standard colours. Looks great, well done. Derrick

Title: Re: FC Wagon Post by: GOA350 on February 21, 2014, 03:02:23 PM Is this the sort of thing we all get to do in retirement, then i cant wait to retire.
Great work Trev and Chris Title: Re: Post by: fe350chev on December 01, 2014, 09:26:54 AM Well done Trevor. I was watching this a while ago but I agree with Ken, you need to get an FE and it's innocence will grown on you. Let me know if you ever start a new project.
Cheers Deano. |
