Title: Wheels
Post by: FC Dave on January 28, 2014, 08:17:04 AM
Well here goes a long shot. As per the wheel numbers thread, I am chasing two 6 or 7 inch wide  x 13 wheels for my wagon to replace the Torana ones so must be early centres.

I have 4 13x6 wide rims. I think 2 of them may be what you are after.

There are a couple of sets on eBay at the moment, two sets are early rims and another set are from a HR with tyres but they look to have the dimples in the rims. Might be worth a look 13 inch Holden wheels

Hi Rob, full circle for me. I think from memory I guessed the rims were probably off a Torana &/or HR ('69 & '75 dates?). For me at least, to get them chromed will amount to the same cost as 'new' because they pull them apart then re weld & align again after chroming.

Ken, I would be very happy with your 4 stock rims as I can get them widened & chromed at a place I just called in Melbourne (Ajax Motor Wheels at Moorabbin).
If you know them, any comment would be appreciated.
That would save me sending 4 to Vic.
Please let me know details for funds transfer.

Thanks Jim, I had a look through the eBay listings again. I think I need to bight the bullet & go for a full set of new chrome rims. Some on eBay look to be OK & some not - hard to know until after you pay the freight & they arrive. I did see the freshly painted red ones (valves & all) with the HR in the background. What condition are the chromes you have?

Ajax wheels have a good reputation, I bought a set of chromed rims from them maybe 20 years ago so they have been going for a long time so must be doing something right.
