Title: Fuel tank for V6 conversion

Any simple solutions to cater for unleaded and internal fuel pump that were in the VP donor car? Obviously the FC standard tank has neither. Options include modifying FC tank, VP tank or ???.

Cheers

I dare say that the Rego authorities will want a smaller outlet that only suits unleaded Greg
A couple of members on the board have and/or are going through the process, Heres the links

Hey Greg,

Jason has used the internal pump and custom tank in his van to great effect.

I have a wagon and am using an external lift pump (Carter) compact unit.  Unless you really must have an internal pump, this is also a viable option.  Are you planning to run EFI or carby, as this will also dictate your decision here.  Surge tanks etc can be mounted externally also, however the commodore tank would probably be suitably baffled already for EFI.

I didnt mod my filler to unleaded nozzle size.  I don't think it is a requirement in NSW, since the motor I am using wasn't originally designed to run on ULP..  incidentally it is now ULP with later model heads.

Since I have fitted up a Commodore fuel flap, it wouldnt be much hassle to changeover to ULP filler if required.

I think "sgo" has gone the entire fuel tank, filler route from a commodore.. also with great effect.

Hope this Helps

Cheers

Ed

Hi Greg,

I chose to make a tank for my Van out of aluminium so that I could have a bigger capacity (90 litres) and also use the internal fuel pump from the Vt donor car... This also has the surge pot incorporated with it.

Not a quick exercise but I am happy with the end result. I bought and folded the alloy and then had someone weld it up for me.

There are a couple of photo's under "My Van"

Cheers
Jason.
