Title: Door window rubbers? Post by: jwm on December 11, 2013, 09:09:21 PM I'm just wondering what people use, or what can be used, for the the internal window rubber that runs along the top of the door between the 2 rails that window runs up and down in.
Not sure I've explained that very well Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: mcl1959 on December 11, 2013, 09:13:55 PM Do you mean the felt with the chrome trim on it that rubs each side of the glass as it goes up and down?
Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: jwm on December 11, 2013, 09:20:01 PM That's it, I don't have any internal ones on my sedan and I was looking to replace them with something. I thought maybe a molded rubber product that could be glued in place as a replacement as I dont' have the mounting clips.

Ken Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: jwm on December 13, 2013, 02:59:19 PM Isn't the Bailey Chanel the actual chanel that the window runs up and down in? I'm actually after the rubber/felt strip that runs across the top of the door horizontally at the bse of the window frame/Bailey chanel?
Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: fcwrangler on December 13, 2013, 03:18:33 PM Ok, they are the belt strips, should be available from Rare spares.

Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on December 17, 2013, 04:33:26 PM Alternatively, I saw a restoration procedure for these either here or on the FB/EK forum. The article used grey stick-on draftstopper from the hardware, but I know you can buy black gear through "Fitch the Rubberman" in Adelaide by the metre and in various pile depths. You'd probably save yourself over $100 if you have the old ones still.

Title: Re: Door window rubbers? Post by: Glenn 'Stinky' Stankevicius on December 17, 2013, 10:39:23 PM Thanks Harv, that's the one. I used the same method to repair ones from a Cadillac.
