Is it a factory black car? It looks like it may have been white or grey originally. What else is on the ID plate?
Police car would have evidence of police fittings such as repaired holes in the roof and bonnet. Plus there would be odd holes in the firewall & skirts where accessories like the siren and radio would have been.

So it was originally Grey with a white top and flash. Unlikely to be a police car. The hole above the windscreen would be where a sunvisor once was.

The names on the firewall are the paint colours - India Ivory and Granite Grey. They were done in a wax chalk before the paint was put on and after a lot of time the wax bleeds through.

anyone fitted a 2jz Toyota motor in an fc haven't seen any yet might be going that way

Was very close to fitting a Toyota 4lt V8 but found too many issues with the block width, then looked at the RB25. I still like the idea of the RB25 because very reliable, cheap to buy and huge power if you want to go that way. But negs are its not Holden and does not give you the tinker factor. Anyway went V8 Holden for the noise.

I'm very interested to see how you go with this build, as I also think the 2JZ would be a smart swap. Interested in the IFS too. I think V6 Conversions were playing with an IRS conversions for early Holdens at one point, too.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Josh.

Title: Re: fc resto
Post by: mcl1959 on September 21, 2015, 08:23:08 AM
I measure the length of the tube from box to the end as 34 inches. Or from the box to the bottom of the honey pot as 31.5 inches.
