Title: Guard Seal Post by: ekute on May 27, 2013, 05:59:09 PM What do people use for the seal between guards and inner guards?
Title: Re: Guard Seal Post by: fink on May 27, 2013, 08:39:40 PM Pretty sure you can use a windscreen sealer as it's similar,it doesn't set hard but bonds and seals even with a slight movement, understand?good!anytime, thanks Gaz! ;D
Title: Re: Guard Seal Post by: fcwrangler on May 27, 2013, 10:23:24 PM You can use a product called "uncured rubber", it comes in different sizes & thicknesses I would use .5 or 1mm thick, Clarke rubber stores sell it.

Title: Re: Guard Seal Post by: ACE on May 29, 2013, 09:13:53 PM G'day Mark,
I used some rubber "U" channel from Clark Rubber. Punched holes for guard bolts with a wad punch. ACE 8) Title: Re: Guard Seal Post by: ekute on May 29, 2013, 09:37:03 PM Thanks for the help guys. When I pulled my car apart the sealer looked like rubber but the upper rear most section was more like a sort of foam rubber and seemed to be thicker.
Have we all used the same product for the whole length? I didn't use anything on a previous fc and ek! All that seemed to happen was that a bit extra crap got in the engine bay from driving in the wet. Title: Re: Guard Seal Post by: fink on May 31, 2013, 07:27:57 AM You could also use the ''tar like'' flashing that roof plumbers use.You can cut this in strips,no mess at all, then you peel the paper off one side and stick it to your s/frame and door pillars and cut your holes out.You can double up and make it even thicker. This stuff doesn't go hard,it seals100%. ;) Gaz!
