Title: Tightening swivel ball joint on mirror ???

Any tips on how to tighten these ???

Mine is as loose as a Nan's nasty ... The screw doesn't help ... Squrt in some silicone or glue ???

Any ideas fellas ???

Dave,

That little screw on the back of the mirror normally tightens them.

When these are over tightened the dish on the back of the ball gets deformed and no longer holds the ball tightly, unfortunately the only way to fix properly is to remove the mirror and repair the dish and then replace the mirror

If you can remove the screw you might be able to put in the hole something of a slightly smaller diameter as a spacer to put a bit of pressure on the dish, but only if the thread in the housing hasn't been stripped.
If it is I would probably go the clear silicon once the mirror is in the correct position.
