Title: Firewall trim sealer Post by: Mc Bean on November 13, 2012, 07:47:49 PM Hi All
What is the best sealer to use to cover the firewall trim pins (engine bay side). I have been looking for the old black window putty, but can only find white. Remember using it to seal HT and other old Holden taillights with it Yeeeeeaaaarrrrs ago. Andy Title: Re: Firewall trim sealer Post by: GMHwagoon on November 13, 2012, 09:17:02 PM andy
if your looking for a black window putty try the leadlight supplies they have a black putty for sealing glass. used as you said like the old glacing putty greg Title: Re: Firewall trim sealer Post by: fcwrangler on November 13, 2012, 10:51:55 PM The stuff you are after was called Nonporite, which is an auto glazing putty but I don't think it's made anymore. You could use Sikaflex 255 extra
urethane, it hardens up but stays flexable(it's what most windscreens are fitted with these days. Regards Jim Title: Re: Firewall trim sealer Post by: Mc Bean on November 16, 2012, 05:28:49 PM Thanks for the replies Greg & Jim,
I did not want to use Sika if possible (last resort) use it everyweek it fit & backfill loco screens, very messy and hard to mould. Went to touch of glass today an brought a tub of leadlighting putty, not sure if it is Nonporite or not Jim but looks the goods. Also looks like it could be used to smear around badge and mould pins to stop water entry. Thanks again guys Title: Re: Firewall trim sealer Post by: graham_fuller on November 16, 2012, 11:46:56 PM The other thing you could use is Black Plasticine.
