Title: 1/4 Window Vent Bottom Clamp
Post by: Rod on September 30, 2012, 10:27:52 AM
Hi All. I am in the process of doing up a couple of doors which includes new rubbers and bottom clamp for the 1/4 vent windows. I have given the forum a thorough search (there are many posts) but haven't been able to find the answer to my query. The purpose of the clamp at the bottom is to regulate the tension and apply friction to the pivot in order to keep the window open. My question is should I apply a little grease to the pivot post to prevent wear. The trade of it will minimise the friction. Thoughts would be appreciated.

Grease is OK - the tension in the clamp will work fine and the action will be smoother as well.
