Title: John A Gilbert ads. Post by: customFC on May 08, 2003, 12:07:14 PM Here are a couple of dealer ads for John A Gilbert of Sydney.
The first is for the 'NEW' FE ute. Found in the Sydney Morning Herald, 5th March 1957. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/customfc/FEFC%20Adverts/gilbert-smh-5-3-57-w.jpg) Next are a pair of similar ads for FE's, just a few days before the FC was released. Found in the Sun, 1st May 1958. Guess they wanted to get it into peoples minds to check them out for the new Holden. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/customfc/FEFC%20Adverts/gilbert-sun-1-5-58-w.jpg) This one is inviting people to come and see the 'NEW' Holden (FC), 3 days after it's official release. Found in the Sun, 9th May 1958. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v117/customfc/FEFC%20Adverts/gilbert-sun-9-5-58-w.jpg) Regards Alex Title: Re: John A Gilbert ads. Any chance of restoring the pictures to this old post in view of the emergence of a Gilberts vehicle recently? David Title: Re: John A Gilbert ads. Post by: FantaC on February 23, 2008, 10:28:43 PM Bugga i thought this post was about me lol

It would seem that a few were amused by the man to call at the City branch - Mr Dick Clapp, yet failed to notice the person to call in the Hornsby branch was Mr M Alcock. Must have made for some interesting salesmans meetings. Regards Alex Title: Re: John A Gilbert ads.
