Title: hanbrake cable setup . Post by: FC 304 wannabe on April 24, 2012, 08:34:36 PM Hi guys, currently trying to build the Handbrake Cable system on my fc.
I have a vn commodore diff and would like to use the original Handbrake lever in the cabin . I have also got the vn commodore rear cable assy, and would like to use that. Any suggestions? I don't have the two pulley wheels used in the oem setup which will probably make things a bit more complicated..... Thanks. Shannon. Title: Re: hanbrake cable setup . I have fitted a shortened VN Diff and used the original VN cable. I also removed the out cable front mounts from the Commie and mounted them to the underside of the rear floor. Modified the front adjustment bracket from the VN and maunfactured the cantilever arrangement then welded the pivot and guide to the chassis rails either side of the gearbox. I am fitting 304 Inj. motor so have manufactured a handbrake setup to suit the original underdash handbrake setup. Prior to doing this resto I had a centre mount handbrake lever from an LJ torrie. I sourced the two pulley wheels to run the front cable and put the original handbrake lever back in. Works great. ;) ;) It is under 'Here we go again' in project cars. For my conversion i used an original HG,T,K gear box support. Everything lined up and works a treat. The support can be seen in my build up. Some underneath pics may show the actual finished product but im not sure.
