Title: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: RET on April 23, 2012, 07:01:28 PM Like I said earlier, my spies are everywhere..
This image comes from fellow NSW Club Member and long-time non-participant in the forum Charlie Boozer, from his holiday a while back. He snapped this image in Egypt. He wasn't able to get any closer to get details, but you can definitely see some Holden family resemblance... (http://i.imgur.com/ikMjv.jpg) Quote Check this photo i have been meaning to show you for ages I took in Egypt.... I don’t know what make or model it is, but it is definitely a cross between an FE and an EK Here's a close-up: (http://i.imgur.com/Zuacz.jpg) Those sills look like they've seen some high-quality repair work. ::) cheers RET Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: FCRB26 on April 23, 2012, 07:09:43 PM looks like a zephyr to me?

Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: colt on April 24, 2012, 04:07:07 PM Is it possible that it's an early Opel?
Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: Hobbo on April 25, 2012, 10:35:30 AM 1954 Opel Kapitan prototype I think ?, now thats a collectable car ! FE front with a EK rear !
Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: fcwrangler on April 25, 2012, 04:46:51 PM Googled the Opel and the 54 Kaptain has straight rear door lines and has a 3 pce rear screen, pity the did'nt get a shot of the badges
Jim Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: fcwrangler on April 25, 2012, 04:59:24 PM P.S. it's not a mrk11 Zephyr the f&r wheel arches are different and the rear door line is also not the same and the headlights are almost the same as the FE/FC. We will all have to keep or thinking caps on.
Jim Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: Jonno on April 25, 2012, 07:05:04 PM very similar to a '57 Simca Vedette, albeit in poor shape:
http://www.philseed.com/simvedette.html The 4th photo down on this page looks almost identical - squared off wheel arches and distinctive chrome trim which curves down following the front wheel arch. The only thing that is in a slightly different position is the side indicator which looks a bit high. Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: Jonno on April 25, 2012, 09:21:49 PM I think it is the 'Versailles' model. Here's a fancy one:

Must be a common fault, or the same panel beater :D Cheers Stewy 8) Title: Re: Spotted - *something* in Egypt Post by: fcwrangler on April 26, 2012, 07:03:30 AM I think we have a winner, well done Jonno. That is one brand I would not have thought about as we only had the smaller modle out here "some car that Simca" as the adds said.
